Simulation-based training is applied across many fields today, preparing learners for the real thing. Pilots learn the ropes in flight simulators. Healthcare workers practice with virtual patients. And now, students practice with virtual microscopes to be better prepared for the classroom.

Why we believe instructors are a vital component in the virtual classroom. Through an introduction of the tools available in virtual spaces and sharing the experiences of an instructor who regularly teaches in them, we see how an instructor’s presence is essential to enhancing student experience.

From lifelike simulations to abstract worlds, virtual spaces help us visualize and interact with things we might never be able to otherwise. How do we make virtual learning effective yet still fun?
